General Approach
The basic goal of the admissions process is to identify and then admit families that share substantially the academy’s world-and-life view, values, and philosophy of education, or are willing to grow in their knowledge and acceptance of the same. In short, we seek a good family-school mission match. Even though the academy’s primary contact is with a family’s children, we view as primary our relationship to the parents whom we are seeking to assist as they take the lead in fulfilling their God-given responsibility to educate their children (cf. Deut 6; Eph. 6). Therefore, parents must be admitted to the academy before their children are admitted.
Non-discriminatory Policy
Socio-economic, racial, or ethnic discrimination is condemned by the Scriptures (cf. James 2:1-13; Revelation 7:9-10). Therefore Believers Academy admits (and welcomes) students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, or national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, scholarship and loan programs, or athletic and other school-administered programs. Inasmuch as English is the primary (and, in most classes, exclusive) language of instruction, the academy may deny admission to students with limited English proficiency.
