Purpose & Structure

Believers Academy classroomBelievers Academy exists to glorify Jesus Christ by partnering with parents to prepare students for life.

Core Values

We ...

  1. Advocate the parent's role as primary, but not solitary
  2. Assist parents in fulfilling their God-given responsibilities
  3. Provide a wholesome and protective environment to support Christian families
  4. Uphold Biblical truth as the foundation of all learning
  5. Integrate Biblical truth into all academics and co-curricular activities
  6. Cultivate Christ-like character in our students
  7. Promote academic excellence
  8. Encourage Christ-like character and professional skill in our staff

Major Desired Outcomes

In fulfilling our purpose we seek to achieve all of the following:

  1. God will be honored, glorified, and well pleased by all that we do.
  2. Parents who have children in the academy will understand and support the academy’s educational philosophy and practices (which include all aspects of the academic and discipling functions of the academy).
  3. Students will understand and embrace a thoroughly Biblical world-and-life view.
  4. Students will grow in Christ-like character.
  5. Students will develop a high degree of academic knowledge and skill commensurate with their God-given gifts, abilities, and callings.

Main Services We Offer

In order to achieve those outcomes, we provide the following services:

  1. Training in developing an in-depth Biblical world-and-life view through dedicated courses and by addressing all other disciplines from a thoroughly Biblical perspective.
  2. Training in developing a Christ-like character as one of the practical outcomes of a Biblical world-and-life view.
  3. Support to parents in the discipling of their children by requiring training in specific Biblical teachings and their implications for educational practice in a Christian school.
  4. The opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ, which will be presented in the context of a Biblical world-and-life view consistent with the academy's doctrinal statement.
  5. High quality academic instruction which prepares students to continue their educational and vocational development according to their God-given abilities and callings. Recognizing that those gifts and callings will differ, Believers Academy will offer multiple diploma plans, ranging in academic emphasis from the basic level, intended to prepare students for entry into junior colleges and somewhat less competitive four-year colleges, to the advanced academic levels. The advanced level is intended to prepare students to secure entrance into and to prepare them for a reasonable chance of success at Texas’ major flagship colleges and universities. Inasmuch as world-and-life view and character form the foundation of any educational system, and especially of a system that recognizes Jesus Christ as the rightful Lord of all of life, this academic preparation will be treated as an extension of a Biblical world-and-life view.
  6. The opportunity to participate in interscholastic athletics as one means of developing Christ-like character and, in particular, skills in working well with others in team endeavors.
  7. Limited social services, such as after school child care and family counseling, as may be necessary to effectively support the academy’s core mission. The academy will not take responsibility to provide services or lead, promote, or otherwise sponsor activities which do not directly and substantially support the other core services described above.
